Bottle Boom

We've heard of two instances where a bottle of Small Animal Big Machine has blown. We want to give anyone a heads up that if they still have a bottle or two, they should be kept cold. We don't think you have to wear artillery armor in your house, just be aware that warm environments could be an issue and this has happened.

Should your bottle have an issue, then take a photo, get a hold of us and we'll make it right.

Somewhat related, is there a reason that caps seem to come off your bottles a little easier than other brewers' bottles? I've never noticed a problem with the freshness of your beers, so don't take this as a complaint or anything. But I've read some folks on BA who say they usually subject Half Acre caps to a bit of extra crimping when they get them home. It might be more of an issue of perception than anything. I mean, it's not like I can pop them off with my bare hands, but they do seem to pop off a little easier than others. Just curious.

Yeah, our capper on our filler is less then robust, but it's never produced crowns that didn't hold pressure or maintain freshness. We have done some work to it lately that does make for better a better crimp.

I just shipped a few half acre bottles to a friend in Seattle. Unfortunately, Small Animal did not survive the trip due to a loosely-sealed cap. Hopefully the recent work does indeed fix this issue.

yeah I had a SABM that was hissing just from going room temp then 10 minutes in the car...I taped it and refrigerated it immediately...the friend I gave it to probably drank it that afternoon.
