Thanks for remembering the session beers every now and then. Double IPAs and Hoptacularities are delicious, but so are easy drinking yet interesting brews.

Glad to hear that Wild America is on track for Friday, but the real question is this - will Marty be making an appearance??? There's no 'Wild America' without Marty Stouffer!!!

will there be a purchasing limit?

Is the Marty's still available? After I schlepped over to get our growler full this weekend I came home tonight to find my husband had drank it all. Ugh!

gabe - we are amongst a real debate over here. was crutsch a real kolsch? was it lagered? please let me know.

Was it a real Kolsch? I guess that depends on your definition. We used an actual Kolsch yeast and handled the fermentation differently than we normally would have, but it does lack some of the qualities the style would traditionally have.

But I'll clarify it this way: we brewed this beer for my wedding and we wanted it to taste as it did. We weren't looking to hit it's traditional style definition. You guys were bent about the hops, but it's a great thing offering beers that stem from a unique place and set of circumstances and being able to shape it exactly how you choose.

I can assure you we will twist things again, and again.

as i asked, my definition only depends on if it was lagered or not. if you used actual kolsch yeast then yes, it is. i didnt bust your balls about the hops. i was told that the word out is that officially this was 'kolsch style'. if this was a real lager (and definitely if you used yeast intended for the style) then the 'kolsch style' comment is false. my only information on this brew came from this blog and when you said it was a kolsch, i didnt question it. in fact others did, and ive been defending it saying that gabe said what it was indubitably, and thats that.

you dont have to defend your brewering choices to me my man. maybe someone else, but im probably your biggest fan. if you want my opinions ill give them to you, but i wouldnt run up on you like that, not here at least.

congrats on tying the knot and thanks for continuing to make great beer. its only a 5 hour journey via public transportation on release day. see ya for meat wave.
